Depending on the time of the year, all mulches will improve moisture retention, help protect root systems and help control weed growth.
Our mulch is manufactured from material purchased from the lumber industry and land clearers.
We purchase material year round to ensure we have aged material available! Raw material is hauled in and stock piled, the only thing added to the raw material is water to help with the aging process. We process our Hardwood using our electric grinder. Our process separates the fine particles prior to going thru the grinding system and then mixes them back into the finished product.
We purchase only clean reground pallets for this product. It is then colored using our coloring system along with either a carbon or oxide based dye depending on the color. Both substances are found in nature; therefore, they are both safe for plants.
The dye is water based. As a result, the dye must be sufficiently dry before it is rained on. In order to ensure proper drying time, dyed mulch needs approximately 48 hours to set once it is spread. No matter how far in advance the product is made, it does not dry completely until it has been spread.
The dye will stain clothes when it is wet. It is recommended that old clothing be worn when spreading. It will wash off skin with soap and water. It can also be taken off driveways and curbs with soap and water, and some scrubbing.
DO NOT SPREAD YOUR COLOR-ENHANCED MULCH IN THE RAIN, OR IF RAIN IS EXPECTED WITHIN THE 24 HOUR PERIOD AFTER APPLICATION – THE COLOR WILL RUN!!!
